About Allison
I am currently a Special Education teacher for grades 1-4. I work with students in reading, writing, and math. My speciality is specifically in phonics using the Orton Gillingham method (which I'm certified in). I use a multisensory approach to engage learners in their learning.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Education studies and a Master in Art of Teaching both from Brandeis University. I have just completed my 3rd year of teaching. In addition, I have been tutoring for 3 years with much success.

The first thing I do when beginning to work with a new student is getting to know the student both as a learner and as a person. It is important to know your students interests in order to create effective and meaningful lessons. I also like to bond with my students and share a lot of laughs!
I have worked with a variety of students ranging from general education to students with dyslexia, ADHD, Executive Functioning and health disorders, as well as, autism.
