About Caleb
I have a degree in Middle Childhood Education (grades 4-8) with a focus on English Language Arts and Social Studies from Mount St. Joseph University. I am a licensed teacher currently teaching at Columbia Intermediate in Kings Local School District. This is my second year teaching.
I am licensed in English and Social Studies but I am confident and comfortable teaching Math and Science, too. I am passionate about education and aim to help every student succeed.
I enjoy working with people. I enjoy helping students to reach their goals. Teaching is hard but it is so rewarding when students achieve success.
Education and learning has always been a passion of mine. I also have a desire to help others. Teaching was a natural choice of profession for me.
I have a degree in Middle Childhood Education (grades 4-8) from Mount St. Joseph University. I am currently in my second year of teaching full time. I am also trained in DIBELS Oral Reading Fluency (ORF).

The first thing I like to do is speak with the parents to see what subject areas the student would like to receive help in and determine if I am equipped to offer that service. After that, I talk to the student to identify areas of strength and weakness within the aforementioned subject area. The areas of strength will boost the students confidence and enable them to take ownership of their educational experience. Then we would focus on the areas of weakness and map out a plan for achievement. The goals would be agreed upon by the student, parents, and myself. I would then break down that goal into smaller more manageable pieces or checkpoints. The growth would be measurable using a combination of formative and summative assessments.
I have worked with all different types of students. Anywhere from First Grade to High School age. I have worked with students in the lowest percentile of achievement to the highest percentile of achievement. I am equally comfortable working with each.
I would encourage the student and the parents to interview the teacher to make sure they are a good fit. Teaching is about more than just knowing the material. You have to be able to deliver the material in a way that is relatable and understandable to the student.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I would think about what the students areas of strengths and weaknesses are. I would also see if the teacher is a good fit for the student. Is the student learning and showing growth?
