About Madeline
I am a recent graduate of UCLA, and am looking to take on students who need help with the humanites: english, writing, reading, essay editing, etc. I am also available to help with college application esssays and fiction writing. I studied english and writing extensively in college, completing many advanced writing courses. I've also studied writing for both the stage and the screen.
I have a Bachelors of the Arts from UCLA, with a GPA of 3.6, as well as a certificate from Anderson School of Business in Entertainment Marketing.

I want to make sure that I am fulfilling the needs of the student above all else. I start by assessing what the student wants to get out of tutoring: what his or her top goals/priorities are. With that knowledge I can craft a lesson plan to fit the specific needs of the student. I also like to know what the student's learning style is, be it auditory, visual, kinesthetic, written, or any combination of the options, so that I know how best to present the information.
It is important to choose a teacher who has succeeded in the areas you wish to succeed in yourself. When I was choosing an SAT tutor, I sought out someone who had performed exceptionally on the SAT himself.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I think it is important to work backwards from the end goal. A student should figure out what exactly he/she wants out of the sessions, and let his/her teacher know that information. What are the goals that the student wants to achieve? With the information, the tutor can create a steps that will work towards those goals.
