About Michelle
I have a great passion for all kinds of learning! English/Language Arts is an especially interesting subject because we get to study human nature through the stories we tell. I plan to help students establish learning goals and then to help students meet or exceed those goals through individual learning plans.
I have been a classroom Language Arts Teacher for 2 years. I have done many hours of one-on-one help sessions with students while teaching, and I am excellent at adapting material to accomodate an individual student's learning needs and style.
Certifications: Language Arts 6-12 (Georgia, 2018-2020)
Lanugage Arts 7-12 (Colorado, 2020-current)

I love learning, so I enjoy helping students discover their own passion for learning. Most of the time, students who dislike school have told me that they dislike it because it's boring or irrelevent for their life plan. I try to tailor learning to match student interests and passions. My favorite part of teaching is getting to know my students and what works best for them.
I knew that I wanted to teach when I was in 3rd grade! I have always been excited by learning, and I want to share that passion with my students. Learning is fun!
I graduated from Kennesaw State University in 2018 with a Bachelor's degree in Secondary English Education. I returned to KSU in 2020 to begin working towards my Master's degree in Intructional Technology with an endorsement in Digital Teaching. I have also been teaching in the classroom since 2018.

I speak with the student and ask them to set their own learning goals. I review these goals with the student, and together we create an individualized learning plan so that the student can meet these goals. These goals can be as simple as "I want to pass Language Arts this semester" or as complicated as "I want to learn how to write a novel".
If you are looking for a teacher, it is important that the teacher be flexible and willing to accommodate your needs. Not every person learns in the same way, so your ideal teacher would be able to quickly adapt to your needs or learning style.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
When students come to me with learning needs, I work with them to figure out how best to meet these needs. Though I prefer to have this conversation with the student and to figure out an action plan together, it may be helpful for a student to consider a few ideas of how to meet these needs before approaching the teacher. The teacher should guide the student through the best learning strategies, but ultimately the task of actually learning is dependent on the student being willing to put in the effort.
