I am Weiyi and I am in an online clinical research master program at George Washington University. Even though I have a medical and scientific background the program started off being very challenging due to English being my 2nd language. Although I studied very hard when I took the first class I felt that I would not survive the program without help. Therefore I searched for the local tutor and the internet. However, I found that it was hard to find a tutor who is well versed in both medical research and medical English that also had experience with online learning. Luckily I found a wonderful tutor network available to students that helped me to find Nikki, an excellent tutor. Nikki tutors students with passion and is very responsible. I really appreciate her way of teaching. She always encourages me to write difficult class assignments myself first. Nikki explained that it is a good practice opportunity for students. After I finished my draft work she shows me where there are errors and how to write the sentences correctly. She has taught me that not only grammar but the importance doing a critical analysis of papers and how to write without plagiarizing. After much practicing, I improved a lot with my medical writing. She also possesses a strong clinical pharmacology background and pharmacy knowledge. She has supported my clinical research course very successfully because she provides me with invaluable suggestions when I do my weekly blackboard posts, responses, with other fellow students, and interaction with the professor. Each time the course semester assignments are difficult ones, especially when I traveled abroad, Nikki is a very flexible tutor and she always adjusts her tutor times to fit student’s schedule needs. Nikki is a happy mom with two lovely daughters. She organizes her busy schedule well just like she helped me learn how to organize my course work well. I never had a tutor like Nikki to teach me for such a long time. I have enjoyed her teaching ways, responsible work ethic and the happiness she has. I cannot believe I became a good student now after I started to work with Nikki. I have received almost all A for all my courses and I will graduate in August, 2019.
