About Jaleh
I have been working as college advisor and writing tutor for over 20 years both as a teacher and college counselor for NYC board of education as well as privately. I have helped hundreds of students with college essays, entrance exams as well as overall essay writing
I love working with young people and feel passionate about helping students reach their potential. I really believe in helping each individual reach their success as they work towards their future goals- After graduating from Emory University with a degree in African American history and education I joined Teach for America where I taught english for two years. I then went on to get a masters degree in social work and program planning. Upon graduation I began working in New York City Public schools as a college advisor for more than 15 years.
I have a BA degree in history and education and a masters degree in social work from Columbia University. I worked as a teacher in Teach for America where I was trained as middle school teacher. I also am an assistant professor at John Jay College in NYC where I taught english essay writing as well doing SAT test prep.
