About Sarah
Learning is a life long process, and I love helping students gain the tools and skills they need to be successful long after they've finished school. Helping students with the foundational skills they need in reading, writing, and math sets them up to be successful throughout their school career and beyond.
I teach for the "light bulb" moments. I love when students "get it", when things begin to click for them! Reading has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember and I want to help students experience the joy I've gained out of reading.
I am a certified 1-12 special education teacher. I have a masters degree in education, with a focus in elementary general/special education. I am Orton-Gillingham trained, and have 8 years of experience teaching reading and tutoring.

During our first meeting, I typically perform a few assessments to gather some baseline data. If a student has assessment data from their school available to me, I review that information as well. We then work together to set a goal for our time together and a plan to meet that goal.
I have worked with elementary and middle school students with learning disabilities in reading, writing, and math. I have also worked with students with dyslexia, intellectual disabilities, and autism.
