About Cameron
My name is Cameron Poehner and I have been passionate for drums and music since the age of 10. I have been teaching privately for the past seven years and recently moved to Portland, OR. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Music Performance from California State University of Bakersfield and offer a comprehensive study in technique and reading in addition to an introduction to any musical style students wish to learn. My teaching philosophy is to prepare students for success in their musical journey by focusing on the art of practice and how to plan for efficient individual time on their instrument.
Absolutely everything! From long hours in the practice room, to preparing and reviewing lesson plans with students, to writing and performing music, I love it all!
I started teaching when I realized there is a responsibility to share what I have learned with those who will come after me if I want the art of drumming to progress.
I hold a degree in Music Performance and have performed with bands in every style of music.

I have worked with students in every style from ages 10-50.
