I have over 30 years experience teaching K-College level classes in a variety of media. My students learn to succeed taping into their unique creativity. My passion is art and I love seeing the Ah-Ha moment happen!

I love teaching and helping people learn to express themselves. Each person is unique and has giftings and talents that can be nurtured. The Ah-Ha moment is wonderful! It is that moment when all the hard work has paid off the the unique creativity begins!
I started with private lessons in 1993 and worked my way through the education system teaching in private schools as a substitute teacher, guest artist, and developing my own business teaching art to homeschool students. I, then taught various media classes with community centers and art centers. I, eventually, started teaching at the community college level in 2001. I left academia in 2013 and have been focusing my attention on private lessons, community centers, and my own art career.
I hold three degrees in Fine Art: Masters of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts, and an Associate of Arts degrees. I've taught K-college with twelve years experience at the college level.
With that experience, I've been able to teach all ages in the academic setting as well as through community outreach centers, and private lessons.

First I find out what the student's goals are and then assess where the student's abilities lie with a phone conversation. Then when we have our first meeting, I have the student work with painting/drawing exercises to see their technical level. Then we create a list of goals to enable success.
Kindergarten through college levels. Each level brings a unique way to present the material. I love it!
Look for what the instructor offers you and how s/he can meet your artistic needs. What type of plan does s/he offer the student and how does that plan work with your specific goals.
As far as teaching goes, the last class I taught, the students who had never painted before developed such a love for painting that they started painting work outside of class! I was so proud!

Details
$35 per hour with a 1 hour minimum but can work around that if necessary. I'm willing to work around any time or budget constraints. While I don’t offer free introductory lessons, my methods are very thorough.
