Kristen Jongen is an internationally recognized author, artist. Kristen has written and published two books. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, Chicago Tribune, The Huffington Post, and other notable publications.
Kristen's work has been used as support material in collegiate courses, therapy groups and wellness centers across the nation. Using research in the neuroscience of creativity and a spirituality based curriculum, Kristen coaches athetes, students and other creative professionals to return to their zone by re-accessing the heart.
It is incredible to watch the light go on in a students spirit. I can see them illuminate through their eyes when they tap into flow. It is what I live for as a teacher and coach. I love working with all age groups. Students who are willing to reach beyond what they think they already know are an inspiration.
I started teaching in 1992. In 2003 I opened my own studio in Naperville, IL and hosted creativity camps for kids ages 6-18 during the summer and holiday breaks. Since then, I have lived in Traverse CIty, MI and New York City, and worked with students of all ages (in addition to professional athletes) to use creativity as a portal into spirit. Children already lead from the heart. Adults let their heads get in the way. My method of coaching is unconventional and will help anyone interested in grounding their spirit by expressing through creativity. Visual art is an exceptional way to balance the head and the heart. Plus it's just cool to know how to paint stuff.
I have a bachelors degree in industrial and packaging design. I have owned and operated the art company Soul Soup, Inc. for the past 16 years.

We work on emotional and creative blocks that arise from insecurity and ego. Initially we do fast paced drawing exercises to get out of our heads and into the creative space where things flow naturally. In addition, students increase eye/ hand coordination, visual exacting, spacial relations, team cohesian and a myriad of other physiological movements.
I have worked with every type of student; from small children to senior citizens. From professional athletes to stay at home moms. I am passionate about encouraging creativity and helping students reveal their inner voice.

Art coaching -$55 hr. per person (50 minute sessions)
Art therapy- $100 hr. per person (50 minute sessions)
Groups, classes and sports teams can be accomodated. Inquire for quote.
Art parties, and or paint and sip, write and sip are available for $40 per person, 10 person minimum, $20 travel fee.
