About Heidi
Dance has always been an intricate part of Heidi’s life. From Salsa Cubana in her home, to studying ballet, jazz, tap, modern and musical theatre throughout her youth into her college years and finally Tribal style belly dance over the past ten years. She lives and breathes dance, and is literally dancing her way through life. She believes that anyone can dance and will develop a program that fits your needs. She would love to share her knowledge and passion for dance with you. She is available for private and semi private lessons as well as choreographic consultations and services. I love the joy that dance brings into my life and that of my students. It is so gratifying to work your way up to a challenge and sit in that sense of accomplishment briefly before knowing you can do more and pushing your boundaries to set a new dance/ movement goal.
I was approached by my dance teacher to be a student aid at our studio when I was 14. By the time I was in college I ran my University's student run dance ensemble leading weekly classes and choreographing for our biannual shows. When I graduated I tried the workforce but soon thereafter started teaching a couple of evening classes a week until I had enough offers to pursue dance fulltime.
I've been dancing basically all of my life. The last 22 years of dance education, performance, choreographying, teaching and collaborative works has been my hands on training. I'm constantly working on bettering my craft and my teaching approach by expanding my knowledge and often attend local workshops, take private lessons with master instructors whenever possible, and read up on pedagogy, anatomy, and dance philosophy.

We'll have a 45 minute long assessment class before we start our actual classes together. This gives us both an opportunity to feel each other out and helps me understand your goals and needs so that I can plan out the next steps in your training. All classes, from the initial assessment class to future classes will take place in my private home studio in Snellville, Ga.
I've worked with students ages 4 to 70+, as long as the student is willing to work I'm happy to help them in any way that I can. I've worked with absolute beginners, people who are returning to dance after a hiatus, and seasoned dancers who want to explore a new genre or get a different teacher's perspective on dance.
Make sure it's a good match. It's more than just is this paerson a good teacher or dancer. It's about are they the right teacher for you. Do they understand how to pull the best out of you.
I love watching dance and nothing is more precious to me than watching a young dancer take the stage for the first time. It reminds me of why I dance, to experience that joy and share it with others. The innocence and simplicity of it can sometimes get lost in our adult minds, it's always a good thing to be reminded of that and not worry if it was good or not, to simply enjoy that moment.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
How's my body? Any past injuries or aches of the students should be brought up and the teacher should know how to either help or work around that.
Goals, what do you hope to get out of this? Some people want to perform or work their way up to an audition. Others view dance as a fitness alternative or a hobby they've always wanted to do but didn't have the opportunity until now. Know what you want to achieve so that your teacher knows how to design a plan that will help you meet these goals.

I've been taking classes from Heidi for a long time now. She is an excellent teacher. She is great at demonstrating and explaining things in a form that is easy to follow. Details
The first class is an assesment class that lasts 45 minutes for $25. Based on the student's needs we will come to an accord. The more classes a student signs up for the more economical. For less than 4 classes, $35 per 60 minute private for up to two students. When a student committs to a five class card it's $150 and a ten class card package is $225. Group rates are also available, please contact me for more information.
