About Donna
Hello! I've been a personal chef since 2009. I've cooked in many home kitchens and customized many types of recipes to meet the needs of my varied clients. I've been teaching for over 25 years and I am very comfortable with personalizing any level of cooking lessons.
I enjoy empowering people to take charge of their health, households and independence through home cooking. There is so much satisfaction turning single ingredients into delicious dishes that people love to eat!
I am a member of the USPCA and attended this organization's Culinary Business Academy. I have worked at various cooking schools and culinary programs including Sur La Table and and LA Mission College as an intern instructor. I have provided cooking demonstrations with many community groups and sponsored a cooking stage at wellness fairs.

The client and I will have an initial consultation and a possible questionnaire. Based the information provided by the client, I will recommend a class or a series of classes. If acceptable, the client and I will mark the dates on our calendars! Typically, students at the beginner level will start with a knife skills class in which they prepare 2-3 recipes.
I have taught children and teens at Kids Cooking Camps and cooking parties (ages 5 to 18), adults at varying cooking levels and older adults.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students would benefit from considering their own goals for wanting to learn how to cook, what type of foods they are interested in cooking and for whom (themselves, family members, adults, children) and if they have health concerns (or other concerns) that they believe cooking at home and/or an alternative diet can positively address.

Details
Intro to Cooking with Basic Knife Skills - $100 for 2 hours and at least one finished recipe.
Cooking classes for two people start at $200, $165 for one. The participants will prepare up to three dishes within each 2 1/2 to 3 hour class and will receive recipes, equipment lists and resources.
