About Priscilla
I am a anthropology tutor with a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology and an Associate Degeee in liberal Arts. I enjoy teaching students different ways to tackle a subject and giving examples to help better understand a subject matter. I like to see the progress my students make and to help achieve their goals. I focus on different subjects, forensic anthropology, biological anthropology especially in observing and determining pathologies and cultural stressors in the bones, as well as cultural anthropology focusing on Native American culture and conservation. I currently teach students in a retail environment doing hands on teaching and learning.
I enjoy watching my students learn and be able to show confidence for a test or exam. I enjoy knowing that my students are learning different study methods or gaining new perspectives on a subject. I also love creating a personalized experience for my studentsand watching them become knowledgeable.
I got promoted at my Retail job to start teaching students how to apply beauty cosmetics and how to create various makeup looks. And I enjoyed it so much and it inspired me to teach in Anthropology because it is a great passion I have and I enjoy seeing my students become knowledgeable.
I attended the University of Nevada in Las Vegas and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology. I also attended the College of Southern Nevada and graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Arts.
I currently teach in person at a Retail location teaching makeup classes.

When I work with a new student, I would like to know what they already have knowledge of in the topic of interest and what obstacles there might be in understanding a topic. I like to develop a custom strategic plan with my student to outline the steps we need to take for my student to achieve their goal.
From previous experience teaching in a Retail environment, I have worked with people from ages 10 to 40 from various parts of the world who want to learn how to apply beauty cosmetics and achieve different makeup looks.
I am looking forward to teaching my anthropology students as well, different ways to approach a topic and provide examples to give a better understanding of the subject matter.
Since I focus on specific subcategories of anthropology, it would be beneficial for the student to pick a teacher who has the most expertise in the subcategory that their topic of interest or subject matter consists on.
For example, I would be best for any biological, forensic or cultural anthropological topics.
A recent even in my career is watching my students practicie the new learning techniques that I have taught them become beneficial in reaching their goals.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
From a student perspective, I would think about questions and write them down to make sure all questions get helped. It would also help to write a question next to the paragraph that was read that there may be a question on OR even posting stick notes on assignments or readings with notes or questions. It would help me a lot to understand what the student is thinking critically and help me develop an action plan to help better explain a topic for the student.
