About Yeliza
Hello, My name is Yeliza and I been teaching since I was 17 years old. Had my Bachelor's in cello performance at Temple University and now finishing my masters at University of Delaware with a Teaching Assistant scholarship. I specialize with young students from 5 years old until you can play. Got my Suzuki certification and had lessons with known cellist such as, Jeffrey Solow(Professor at Temple University), Jesus Morales (Cellist of Dali Quartet), Peter Stumpf (Indiana cello professor), and Lawrance Stomberg (Cello Professor at University of Delware). I started teaching in Puerto Rico when I lived until 2011 that I moved to Philadelphia to start my Bachelor's at Temple.
In Puerto Rico we started a program called 100*35 and it was important because I started to teach an afterschool program. After that I started to teach at the preparatory at the Conservatory of Puerto Rico until I moved to Philadelphia.

First, I talk to the student to know why they like the cello and which one are their goals. Is important to know how much they know about music so I have an idea where would I start with the student. Is better to start little by little because everybody has a different way of learning. The importance is that the student had fun adn learn something in each lesson.
I worked with students from 5 years old and older.
Look for a teacher that helps you understand and learn in a fun way your instrument. Find someone that have more than one way to explain the material.
