About Nichole

I have been training basketball since 2015, and have lead teams to win in competitions such as the national Reno tournament. I have also played for most of my life, and played a year of d3 colliegent basketball until I unfortunately injured my back.

I love being able to watch the athletes succeed and improve. I love following along with their achievements (making their school team, getting on the aau team they wanted). I am also very passionate about the sport, and l enjoy getting to work with other athletes who are also passionate about basketball.

My mother and I started a nonprofit team for kids who were playing at the YMCA because they could not afford other AAU teams. When the organization started to grow I was able to start hosting camps, and take some of my teams to big tournaments, and also do private training with some of them who wanted to reach a goal. 



I am a junior in college, and have played basketball since I was 8 up until my freshman year of college when I injured my back. I have been training with a nonprofit called San Jose Unity since 2015, running camps, private training sessions, and practices for teams going to tournaments.

First lesson I will run simple beginner drills to figure out the athletes skill level. The next few lessons will be trial and error seeing what skills the athlete has and what skills we need to focus most on. Then the following training sessions, I will run drills that push the athletes limits while reassuring them mistakes will happen and I want them too because that means they are trying their best. We will work on skills the athletes want to improve on and skills I believe the athlete needs to improve on. We will also go over terminology and some conditioning to ensure the athlete is the best they can be. 



I have worked with all ages ranging from 3rd grade up to seniors in high school. I have worked with beginners and skilled players, and those inbeteween. 



A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should definitely find a coach who is a match with them by asking questions on their coaching style. If yelling motivates the student then find a coach who pushes through yelling if positive affirmations motivate the athlete look for a coach who does that. Also always ask questions on coaches background and what they have done to ensure they are skilled enough.
