About Jiaming
I am a student myself and I know exactly how hard it is to take some college-level classes, In sophomore year I took Trigonometry and got a High mark on my regent. So my teacher recommended me to AP Calculus BC. I struggled immensely everyone else had taken AB before jumping in but I was just placed into BC with no pre-calculus or AB. In the end, I got a four on AP exam and was one of the only two people in my school to not take an AB or pre-calc to pass. I also work with AP statistics and AP biology because I plan on becoming a Biology major. I have never failed an AP and plan on keeping that record and helping others do the same
I enjoy meeting new people and learning their ideas and the type of intelligence they exhibit. By figuring out a person's type of intelligence and motivations, then I can distinguish a way to help them embrace their intelligence and achieve their true potential in life. A lesson we should all have learned from this Pandemic crisis
I started teaching because my teachers recommended me to younger students that were struggling. Before I was teaching I enjoyed being in the Science, Math, or English department offices and helping my teachers either with grading or at times setting up labs. Then some students when they came in asking the teachers to help with an assignment they do not understand, the teachers were often too busy to help so instead because the teachers trusted me and knew my grades and they directed them to me. I still get texts from these old friends when they need help on a subject, signing up on this website is my way of expanding my network.
I have been tutoring kids since I was in middle school, I find that whenever you are an upperclassman either to middle schollers or High schollers it is your job to teach them, so I have had experience with virtually every kind of intelligence already.
I have taken and passed all my APs ranging from (AP biology, AP Calculus, AP Government, AP Statistics, AP US History, and AP GLobal) and I have not failed a single one

When working with a student the first thing I do is get to know the student, I've learned from experience that if you do not have the motivation to learn something, no matter how much money or classes you take you will not learn it. My past learning Chinese is a prime example, my parents have sent me to several classes to learn Chinese but I never could. Eventually, the only way I learned was when I wanted to and I found that having another person with you either going through the same thing or have gone through the same thing to be the best way to learn, that what I hope to be as a tutor. After having motivation the second thing is finding your intelligence, whether it be musical, spatial, social, logical, and so forth. I want to get to know you and figure out your type of intelligence before I try to force a specific teaching method on you
I have worked with all types of students from the hyper-competitive with personalities that would make Chuck Norris quiver in fear, to the dropouts that believe that education is useless for their life goals. I found that all teenagers want to learn something no matter their personality or their beliefs. The key is framing the lesson in a way that would interest them, which is why I get to know people and learn their intelligence and motivation before I try any type of teaching
If you want a teacher to hire a teacher, in my area or any other do so. I am simply here as a resource to help and as I said I am not a specialization like some teachers I am more of a jack of all trades as I can teach you large extent even beyond the typical curriculum but I know for sure that someone definitely has more specifics than I do. I am like a family doctor in the health care system, they see all types of cases and know how to help most of the time but when they cannot they would refer you to a specialist like a doctor or a surgeon. The only difference between me and an official teacher is that I am on the other side with you, I know how to teach but I also know the best ways to retain information.
One of the recent events I am fond of was teaching an underclassmen girl to excel in AP biology, she did not have the motivation to learn biology and disliked most of the boring concepts (like how the transcription process in a Prokaryote is directly linked to translation process because there is no nucleus that separates it as in Eukaryotes). Eventually, after getting to know her I realized that she was a musical intelligence she memorized dozens of obscure songs and lyrics. So we worked together to create a song about the Citric Acid cycle and Oxidation Phyphorilation of the Mitochondria she sang te song herself and I sing a little, Afterwards, a girl that got in the 40s on AP biology exams in the class passed her AP exam with a three. I enjoyed this experience because it was learning musically, an experience I had never had before
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Most of the time you should talk to a teacher about your needs, but if you are fearful of your teacher (like I was) or have a bad teacher, I find that simply seeking out someone around your age to help you is the best way to help you because they are either going through the same experience as you or they have already gone through it and can help you

I am negotiable for pricing but my minimum is $15 dollars an hour, or $20 if it is an at-home visit. (this option only available after quarantine ends) . Sometimes for the first hour, I would not charge you because during that hour I first would rather try to get to know you a little better before we start, to help build motivation to learn the subject if you need it or to figure out the type of intelligence you are. I understand that am constantly learning myself, I do not pretend to know everything but I am a firm believer that those that have had some experience should share it and work with others so everyone can reach their full potential
