I had never done anything in the acting field before, but being an actress has always been my dream. I was never encouraged by anyone, so I was scared to do anything about it. This changed when I found Jo! She was so positive and encouraging in a very constructive way. As mentioned, I am completely new to acting, so I had no technique. I talked to Jo about my fears and we worked together to get some basics like choices and beats figured out. We also practiced cold readings and at the end of our 4-sessions, she helped me figure out a game plan for how to get started in the business. She also gave me some excellent resources to follow on Instagram and Facebook so I could get advice from professionals and find some people in the community that I may be able to relate and connect to. My dream had always seemed far-fetched and impossible, but Jo helped to give me hope that with time and commitment, I really can accomplish my dream!

I consider myself very lucky to have been coaching with her for 2 years, and she has helped me approach stage/film/tv auditions and roles that I would have otherwise had a great deal of difficultly with.

Jo is a caring and insightful acting coach. I have worked with her on a number of projects and can confidently say she has gotten the best out of me. Her system is comprehensive; she will work with you on figuring out the beats of your script to the character's subtext to the background and motivations to the movement and vocalization. Best of all she will never give you a line reading or tell you that there's a right or wrong way to do something. She helps you to figure out the best way that you, as an individual, can express and perform a character, leaving you with a performance that is unique and meaningful to you as an artist.
