About Rebecca
I have been teaching theater acting, film, improv, musical theater, directing and producing classes for 6 years at Experience Arts School and Lumos Arts Academy in Gilbert, and have directed musicals, plays, short films, and professional music videos. I have also been a professional musical theater repertory company actor through Silver Star Playhouse in Mesa, as well as acted and performed in many dinner theaters as well as private party services through Daisy Entertainment since 2007. I am currently acting in various films throughout the valley.
I have studied theater with Richard Kalinoski and Merlaine Angwall out of UWOshkosh as well as commercial acting with Elaine Stein, Film acting with Randy Messersmith, improv with Dave Thurston and Matt Rosin, and Meisner with Kevin Phipps all in Arizona.

My performing arts experience combined with my husband's extensive music recording, writing, and producing abilities can provide quite the dynamic range of services that our Midwest-roots work ethic provides.
My husband who has a Masters in Human Dynamics, and I with a Masters in Psychology and undergrad focus in theater respect people and their needs as well as the arts, so we will do our best to make sure your every performance is the best it could possibly be.

At Soundwaves Productions, we love the challenge of finding new ways to help build and coach our new clients in ways that work for them and help them shine.
We keep fresh with our own creative projects, and new clients with fresh ideas always inspire us to push further. Having new talent is also the best way for us to find trust worthy actors and musicians for future professional projects we initiate or are hired for.
I have taught the range of ages 7- adult over 15 years in many different environments. I studied theater at University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, Improv at Improv Olympic in Chicago, and with many teachers and directors in different environments all over the Phoenix Area. The diversity in training various ages, in different environments, and different performance styles has catered to my well-rounded abilities to reach nearly any student.

I like to have students come over and sit down for us to get to know each other for our first lesson. My goal is to find out the extent of the student's experience in all performing art forms, any special skills, and to set 1-2 goals by the end of the lessons that are attainable.
After I have gotten to know the student, I open up any questions he or she may have and have my experience available to for them to look through if so desired.
Finally, I like to get up and working so I can get a sense of the dynamics and levels I am working with, and see how he or she respond to direction. I always leave my student with a few nuggets of wisdom to take with them, an overall plan to reach the goal, and an assignment for the next class.

I love working with Rebecca. She is very flexible and communicative and knows how to adjust to me if I am struggling to understand. She loves to push and stretch, but does it in a way that I can tell I am making progress and still doing things right. Also, Soundwaves Studio is no 'at home studio.' Actually its probably the most legit studio in AZ. Jim seems to be pretty rad and I look forward to possibly exploring voice over with the studio in the future.
