About Dianne

Hello My name is Dianne Dash. I live in Columbia, Sc. I have livednin Columbia for 6 years, I was born and raised in Orangeburg, SC. Were I graduateed from Orangeburg Wilkinson High School in 1986. I spent my first three years ic college at South Carolin State Universty majoring in education. I attended Orangeburg Calhoun Technical Collee where I earned my certificate in Early Childhoode Development. I earned my CNA Certification in 1997. My lifetime goal has always been to teach children and help the elderly. Fror many yeaers I was a teachers assistant at many of the local schools. Where I worked with grades K-4. I always liked working with these grade level of students. I found them to easier learners. They were first time students attending school.

I have 10 years or more of working in the school district as a teacher assistant. I worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for nearly 15 years. I returned to College in 2018 at Ultimate Medical Academy where I earned a 4.0 GPA I was placed on the Dean's List. Noww, I am getting ready to graduate this coming summer with my certification in Medical Billing and Coding. As well as my degree in General Psychology. For the past 5 years living here in Columbia, SC. I am currently a avocate, Guardian at Litem for children in foster care. Also, a Notary Public.

My biggest to accomplishments I have had was when I earned my name on the Dean's List for having a 4.0 at the age of 53. Also, as being a notary public in the state of South Carolina. We have the duty as a notary to officiate wedding ceremonies. I officiiated my first wedding ceremony in 2011.

As for why I am applying to want to become a tutor? 1. For professional reasons. I have worked within te school districts for many years helping students with their classroom even sometimes thir homework. In doing so you must have patience as well as understanding when it comes to first time learners. Now that the children are going to school online duethe present condition that we are facing now. Some parents have become overwhelmed. Either they don't have the time to actually sit and help their children, Or there are children that has parents that can't read or write this makes it even harder for te child to learn. 2. For personal reasons I ehave always enjoyed working with children and as I mentioned earlier. I am a mother myslf, I have two children. Although, they are grown and on their own now. I am thankful that I was their to help them with their homework.

In conclusion, if i am given the opportunity to become a tutor I would like to work with grades k-4. I like subjects like reading, writing, spelling and math . I would also be their to hhelp my students get the best understanding of the subject as I can.

In 1998 I began working in the school district as a teacher aide

I've earned certifications to work as a substitute teacher.

I like one one sessions.  If I work within a group I like asking questions to break the ice such as: their names, favorite colors, and son. To gain their attention as well as showing illustrations especially when counting numbers.

I have worked with elementary grade levels K-4. Worked with special need children, Based on their learning ability

Look for a tutor that has patience, understanding, good communication skills, someone that can help you

There have been many.  My fondest event has been when I earned my name on the Dean's List.  with a GPA of 4.0 at the age of 53.   The reason why this was so speciaal to me because you hear so many using the word can't or using their age as an excuse not to return to school
