About Kaitlyn
I am a Texas educator with classroom experience teaching English Language Arts and Reading in upper elementary grades. I specialize in helping students strengthen reading comprehension, vocabulary, and writing skills while building confidence in their academic abilities.
My lessons focus on TEKS-aligned strategies that improve understanding of texts, strengthen writing structure, and prepare students for classroom success and state assessments. I work with students at their individual level to help them grow as independent readers and thinkers.

When a student works with me, my goal is to build strong, confident readers and writers while making learning engaging and meaningful. As an experienced Texas ELAR teacher, I design lessons that are aligned with TEKS standards and tailored to each student’s individual needs.
Each session begins with a quick check-in and review of previously learned skills to reinforce progress and build confidence. From there, we move into targeted instruction focused on the specific area the student needs most—whether that’s reading comprehension, vocabulary development, writing organization, grammar, or test-taking strategies.
Students can expect lessons that include:
Guided reading with strategies that improve comprehension and critical thinking
Explicit instruction in writing skills such as sentence structure, organization, and editing
Practice with grade-level texts to strengthen fluency and vocabulary
Interactive discussions that help students learn how to analyze and respond to what they read
Targeted support for STAAR preparation and TEKS mastery
I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions and actively participating, so my lessons are supportive, engaging, and paced appropriately for each learner. I also provide strategies students can use independently in their classrooms, helping them become stronger and more confident readers and writers over time.
