About Theresa
When I'm not teaching, I'm usually spending time with animals or lost in arts and crafts. I'm a cat mum to seven cats (all big and orange!) and you may well meet them during our lessons — they do love to "help."
I believe humans are meant to be creative and that creativity is essential to our wellbeing. I also believe education is key to attaining happiness and, if you're struggling with it right now, we can work on that together.
One of my mottos is: 'live and learn, learn and live!' Whether it's mastering a new mathematical concept, building vocabulary or learning to crochet — all learning is healthy and enriching.

I focus on tracking back to find, and secure, the gaps in learning, so that pupils can build confidently on what they already know. I have over twenty years of (mainly upper) primary classroom experience, including a lot of experience preparing pupils for tests so they feel confident and able to do their best. I work at the pace that suits the student, building competence and confidence and I'm happy to let the pupil lead on pace. I hold QTS and a master's degree in linguistics. I can adapt my teaching from formal grammar instruction to teaching English through engaging texts. Lessons offered to develop learning skills needed for lower primary (Yrs3&4); upper primary (Yrs 5&6 - particularly SATs preparation); confidence for secondary school and GCSEs.
