About Ekaterina
My name is Ekaterina Mortelmans, I am originally from Moscow and currently live in Brisbane, Australia. My professional teaching career began 12 years ago. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Moscow City Pedagogical University as a primary school teacher, and then completed a master’s degree in educational psychology.
In Moscow, I worked for five years as a primary school teacher and guided my class through to graduation.
After moving to Belgium, I specialised in teaching Russian as a foreign language (RFL) to adult students — my students included lawyers, businesspeople, and pilots starting from zero.
I also worked at a school in Brussels with bilingual children, helping them maintain and develop their Russian language as part of their cultural identity.
Now I am based in Brisbane and offer both online and in-person lessons.
What I offer:

Меня зовут Екатерина Мортельманс, я родом из Москвы и сейчас живу в Австралии, в Брисбене. Моя профессиональная карьера в преподавании началась 12 лет назад. Я окончила бакалавриат Московского городского педагогического университета по специальности “учитель начальных классов”, затем получила степень магистра в области педагогической психологии.
В Москве я 5 лет работала преподавателем начальных классов в общеобразовательной школе и довела свой класс до полного выпуска.
После переезда в Бельгию я специализировалась на преподавании русского языка как иностранного (РКИ) взрослым студентам — среди моих учеников были юристы, бизнесмены и пилоты, изучавшие русский язык с нуля.
Также я работала в школе в Брюсселе с детьми-билингвами, помогая им сохранять и развивать русский язык как часть их культурной идентичности.
Сейчас я готова проводить занятия как онлайн, так и офлайн в Брисбене.
