About Ziqi
Hi there! I graduated from ANU with a double degree majored in Psychology and Biochemistry, minored in Music. I’m now completing fourth-year psychology at Murdoch University. Having studied in both China and Australia, and 5+ years experience tutoring various subjects (math, English, violin, piano, Chinese Mandarin) for diverse students (primary school to university, beginners to advanced students). I understand that every learner faces different challenges. I’m here to listen, support your learning, share my tips & experience, and help you reach your full potential.
I completed Year 12 ATAR (scored 96.5%) with Math Methods, Specialist, Music, ESL, Mandarin (first language), and Chemistry. During high school, I received a Distinction for 2018 Australian Mathematic Competition, and 2019 SSTUWA IMSS Prize in recognition of my ATAR music performance in Viola.
Besides private tutoring, I have also worked as a dyslexia reading & spelling tutor at Canberra Learning & Development Centre for 2+ years, and a violin & piano tutor at Canberra Music Tuition.

I will begin with some initial assessments to understand the areas we need to focus on. This will help me set milestones, personalize your lesson plans, and decide on which interventions to be used.
During a normal lesson, we will warm up with phonemic awareness practice, then revise old phonemes, learn a new phoneme with chosen intervention, finishing with a reading passage, writing task, or practice worksheets.
If you have school work or other goals that need help with, I personalize the lesson structures based on your goals, progress, and learning styles. Learning may not be a linear process, I will assist you from understanding the fundamentals, to applying theories using practical tasks, and revising the topics regularly. Learning materials will combine my own research on the topic, any materials you need help with, official textbooks and teaching guides, and learning tools such as flashcards and quizzes. I will also provide constructive feedback to help you build both your skills and confidence.
