About Mackenzie
I have a Bachelor or Arts in both History and Government and Law. I spent most of my time in college writing papers, and in my senior year I crafted a thesis that rewarded my honors in history. During this time, I peer edited my fellow thesis students’ work, and gained valuable insight into what it takes to master text analysis, grammar, narrative voice, and stylistic choices. I developed the skills and passion necessary to help others along in their own academic study of English. Be it a piece of creative writing, an analytical essay, or a lesson in grammar or style, I can help you if you’re struggling, or if you’re simply looking to push your skills higher.

I am all about practice. I firmly believe that Academic English is something anyone can master, but it takes hands on experience to do it. If grammar is your weak point, I would start with practice exercises to help you get stronger. For paper writing, I would offer students aid in understanding prompts and in locating sources, allow them to do the research, while serving as a sounding board for their ideas and arguments. The writing process would be up to the student, but I would be involved in offering constructive criticism on paper drafts. I could also be of assistance in setting deadline reminders and helping to keep students on track in the process. Whatever the student needs help with, I am there to offer encouragement, instruction, and feedback.
