About Leah
I am an experienced nurse, who is deeply passionate about maternal health care, pediatric health care and disability advocacy. Including access to education. I believe in FULLY informed consent, in all areas of healthcare and education and can also provide guidance and support in areas of self-advocacy, IEP meetings for parents and students, IRPC meetings, requests for supportive and adaptive tools and much more. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions surrounding these topics and we can plan a meeting to discuss your needs and how I can best support you or your child. Sometimes, it just comes down to using the right words and knowing who to speak to and when. I am happy to provide behind-the-scenes guidance or be a present support person for meetings/accommodation requests, etc.

Hi My name is Leah and I’ve been a registered nurse for the past 8 years. I am passionate about science and love sharing my knowledge with others. I have extensive experience working with children of all ages/abilities, including (but not limited to), Down syndrome, Autism/ADHD, hearing impairments (functional ASL skills), vision impairments, mental health struggles, physical challenges, cognitive disabilities and more. I am currently a school nurse and love working with elementary-aged students. I am able to tutor current and hopeful nursing students as well, and have a strong background in pediatrics, maternal health, NICU, and a passion for pharmacology. I am located in Niagara, ON, and willing to meet in person, or online, whatever is easiest for you. Feel free to ask me anything and see if I would be a good fit for your needs.
