About Marina
I'm a Registered Nurse with over 28 years of clinical experience, including extensive ICU nursing across major hospitals in Queensland and Victoria, nine years as a Clinical Facilitator and Nurse Educator at Metro Hospital, and ongoing practice as a casual RN.
I hold a Master of Nursing (Education Major), a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, and a Graduate Certificate in Critical Care Nursing. I also co-run Nurse Growth Academy, an education business supporting internationally qualified nurses through OSCE preparation and career development.
I tutor because I know how hard nursing study is, especially bridging theory to clinical practice. I've supported nursing students and staff at all levels, from grad nurses finding their feet in ICU to career progression strategies and preparation for interviews. I adapt my approach to where you are and what you need.

My sessions are practical, conversational, and led by what you actually need. I don't deliver lectures. I work through your questions, your assessments, or your clinical scenarios with you, so every session has a direct and immediate payoff.
I use a clinical reasoning framework to help you think through problems the way a nurse thinks at the bedside, not just memorizing the right answer, but understanding why, so you can apply it confidently in any situation. For exam preparation I use scenario-based practice, working through realistic clinical cases and talking you through what to look for, what to say, and what to do at each stage.
For assignment and care plan support I don't write your work for you, I help you structure your thinking, identify the gaps, and understand the marking criteria so you can produce something you're genuinely confident in. For interview preparation we do mock questions, practice your STAR responses using your own clinical experience, and work on how to present yourself clearly and professionally.
Sessions are practical and focused, we work on your real questions, your actual assignments, or what's coming up on placement. Online via video call, with flexible scheduling to suit shift workers and students.

Details
My rate of $65 per hour reflects over 28 years of clinical nursing experience, a Master of Nursing with a major in Education, and nine years of formal nurse education practice in a major Queensland hospital. I bring the same depth of knowledge to a tutoring session that I brought to designing and delivering clinical education programs for registered nurses, the difference is that here, the focus is entirely on you. A free 60-minute trial means there is no risk in finding out whether we are a good fit before you commit to anything.
