About Kristen
I’m a passionate and experienced primary school teacher who trained in London and has had the privilege of teaching children from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures.
I began my teaching career in a multicultural primary school in London, where I developed a real love for helping children grow in confidence, both academically and personally. I later had the exciting opportunity to work internationally in Chicago, gaining experience of different educational settings and approaches to learning.
I have taught across the primary age range and particularly enjoyed working with Year 6 pupils, supporting children as they prepared for the transition to secondary school. I understand that the final years of primary school can be an important and sometimes challenging time for children, particularly when they are preparing for SATs.
What I love most about teaching is seeing that moment when something finally clicks for a child. Whether it's a child becoming a more confident reader, solving a maths problem they previously found difficult, or finally feeling proud of their writing, those moments are incredibly rewarding.

Hello! Having 14 years' experience as a primary school teacher, I am offering friendly, personalised 1-to-1 tutoring for children aged 5–11, specialising in reading, writing and maths.
Having worked in primary education for over a decade, I understand that every child learns differently. Some children need help catching up with areas they have found difficult, while others benefit from extra challenge and encouragement to reach their full potential.
My lessons (30/45/60mins) are relaxed, supportive and tailored to each child. My aim is not simply to help your child get the right answers, but to help them understand why, become more independent and develop confidence in their own abilities.

I aim to make sessions engaging, positive and achievable, while still providing the appropriate level of challenge.
