About Daisy
I'm a qualified English and Drama secondary school teacher, with a year's experience in inner-London schools, praised for focusing on individual student needs and quickly establishing rapport. Over three academic years of tutoring, I've consistently helped students surpass target grades, fostering a notable boost in their confidence.
I am also an ICF trained coach, where I specialise in supporting anxious teenagers with low confidence, as I strongly believe that a lack of confidence is one of the biggest contributors to low academic achievement or students not achieving their potential. For those reasons, I would recommend that students take part in my coaching alongside tutoring and I am currently running a £25 per hour introductory offer.
Having taught ages 11-18, including A Levels, IB, AP English, and the Australian 11+ system, I'm well-versed in curricula from key stages 3-5. My diverse experience encompasses students of all abilities, including those with special educational needs and English as a second language. Additional roles as a teaching assistant and volunteer in Spain further enhanced my adaptability.
Outside of teaching, I manage a thriving online international writing community with over 75 writers. This reflects my passion for creative writing and commitment to nurturing the next generation of writers. Through teaching, I aim to inspire students to explore their creative potential and develop a lasting love for writing.

I tailor my classes to each student, creating a personalized profile after our initial meeting to address their specific needs. Beyond focusing on grades, my emphasis lies in nurturing self-esteem and confidence. I passionately believe that confidence significantly impacts academic performance and anxiety during exams.
My classes are characterised by interactivity and a focus on building rapport with students. I take pride in providing a supportive, judgment-free learning environment. This approach has proven successful, with all students achieving or surpassing their target grades. Notable achievements include a GCSE student overcoming educational gaps to secure a B, an A Level student progressing from an E to a B, and another A Level student exceeding their predicted D with a B.
I would say that I specialise in the E or D to B pipeline, helping students who are struggling to achieve beyond what they may believe they are capable of at this point in time.
I'm equally proud that all my students experience increased confidence, positively affecting their mental health. Previous reviews on a different platform, where I maintain a 5-star rating, attest to the effectiveness of my teaching style:

Daisy is an incredible educator. She helped me with my graduate applications for my PhD program, going above and beyond in offering insight and advice on my writing samples and personal statement. Daisy has been tutoring Eva for nearly 3 years. Eva was her very first student.
