Having studied under her for 13 years, I can safely say Maria Grant is the greatest and most influential teacher I’ve had the pleasure of learning from. She is strict and accepts nothing but excellence, but gives her students every chance and tool to meet her expectations. When you study under her, you learn not only the fundamentals but how to truly perform. Thanks to her, I learned how to transfer my soul onto the keys as my fingers dance across. Words cannot convey how much I appreciate her lessons.

Mrs Grant taught all four of my children with a passion for both the music she taught and the development of her students. When I gave my daughter the choice to stop taking lessons her senior year of high school, my daughter chose to continue her high school piano career with Mrs. Grant. It proves to me that the love for music had truly been instilled in her. I couldn’t recommend a better teacher!!

I began lessons with Maria when I was in first or second grade and continued until I graduated high school. I learned much more than from her than I could have imagined. Maria’s teaching not only enhanced my skill and technique but she taught me discipline in my practice, helped me gain confidence and perfection in my playing to be able to perform in front of judges and crowds, and she found fun ways to develop my knowledge in musical theory and sight reading. She worked with my learning style, and was ultimately the reason I received one of five piano scholarships at my undergraduate institution, Concordia College -Moorhead, MN. I highly recommend her for anyone interested in beginning, or further developing your skill and love of piano!

I was an adult student of Maria's for many years and my son for over 10 years. She challenged me in performance and technique. I learned so much more from her than any traditional piano instructors I had in the past. Maria will guide you to play beyond playing notes on a score. She taught me how to phrase a composition and multiple techniques in placement and positioning of fingers all of which translated to playing piano with emotion and feeling. She is a wonderful teacher for any age!
