About Louie
I am a passionate and engaging tutor with over 200 hours of experience tutoring Maths, Further Maths and Physics at GCSE and A-Level. As someone who has gone through the process of studying for, and subsequently sitting, A-Level exams I am well positioned to support students in working towards achieving higher grades and also understand many of the difficulties they may face. I was previously a student at the highly regarded Colchester Royal Grammar School throughout my Secondary and Sixth Form education. This helped me to develop a focused and strong academic work ethic. Having completed my A-levels in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Computer Science, I am currently studying for a BSc in Physics with Astrophysics at the University of Manchester.

My initial discussion with students looks at what content they have covered to date, the goals they have for themselves and their potential academic struggles. We then focus on the student’s weaker areas by selecting targeted problem-solving exercises and exam style questions. I find this approach improves exam technique and ultimately makes the final exams far more approachable. I understand the importance of building an engaging collaborative relationship with students. Holding regular check-ins allows us to evaluate progress and highlight potential areas to work on. Weekly homework is set to consolidate learning, and I’m more than happy to provide feedback to parents upon request. The ultimate goal of our work is to achieve top grades, so I also place emphasis on developing effective study techniques in preparation for mock and final exams. I tutor Maths, Further Maths and Physics at GCSE and A-Level and can offer an initial trial lesson for free.
