About Jay
I was born in Basel, Switzerland, and German is my native language. I studied business administration, marketing, art, and English–German translation, which has given me a solid foundation in both language and communication. I have been teaching German for more than 25 years, working with students of all ages and levels, from absolute beginners to advanced speakers. My long experience allows me to adapt to each student’s needs with patience and precision, making lessons both effective and enjoyable. Alongside teaching, I am also a fine artist. I enjoy working in a variety of media — painting, drawing, installation, film, sculpture, and performance — though painting remains my primary focus. My creative background often enriches my lessons, helping me bring language to life in fresh and engaging ways.

I am a native German speaker with over 25 years of teaching experience.
I specialise in explaining difficult grammar with precision. If you have struggled with cases, word order, or sentence structure, I break them down clearly and show you how to use them correctly in real situations.
I work analytically. I do not just correct mistakes. I identify why you make them and address the root of the problem. This leads to faster and more lasting progress.
