About Journey
Hi! My name is Journey Myricks, and I am an experienced educator and musician with a passion for helping students grow in confidence, creativity, and musical ability.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a degree in Music Arts Management from SUNY Plattsburgh, as well as a Master of Arts in Teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education. My background in both music and education allows me to combine strong teaching practices with personalized musical instruction.
I offer supportive and engaging voice lessons for beginner and developing singers. Lessons may focus on vocal technique, breathing, pitch, tone, rhythm, ear training, music theory, song interpretation, performance skills, and building confidence as a singer.
As an educator, I understand that every student learns differently. I work to create a welcoming environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, practicing new skills, and making mistakes as they grow. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s experience level, interests, and individual goals.
While piano is not my primary instrument, I have basic piano knowledge that I can use to support vocal exercises and music instruction.
Whether a student is exploring singing for the first time, preparing for a performance, or simply looking to become a more confident musician, my goal is to make every lesson encouraging, structured, and meaningful.

Hi! My name is Journey Myricks, and I am an experienced educator with a strong background in music, vocal performance, and education. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Music from SUNY Plattsburgh, along with a degree in Music Arts Management, and later earned my Master of Arts in Teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education.
As both a trained educator and musician, I understand that learning to sing is about more than simply hitting the right notes. My goal is to help students develop their voices while building confidence, healthy vocal habits, musical understanding, and performance skills.
Voice lessons can include:

-Breathing and breath support
-Pitch and vocal accuracy
-Tone development
-Vocal range development
-Ear training
-Rhythm and musicality

-Performance skills and stage confidence

I especially enjoy working with beginners and young singers who may feel nervous about singing or are just beginning to discover their voices. Lessons are encouraging, structured, and tailored to each student's individual goals and musical interests.
