About Samara
I am a final year medical student at the University of Cambridge. I studied maths, biology, chemistry and history A-levels and am a very enthusiastic, patient and passionate tutor who is keen to help your child achieve their potential. I am well versed in both the GCSE and A-level requirements for sciences as well as details of medical applications so believe I have that fresh outlook on what examiners are looking for! My past experience in tutoring for science and medical applications has resulted in my tutees achieving their top choices of university including Cambridge, UCL, Imperial, Manchester and Aberdeen medical schools. In terms of GCSEs I have helped students in biology and maths raise their grades from a B/C to A*. My teaching methods intend to focus on what the child is struggling on and work through various examples of the problem in order to help them get to grips with the content in a non pressurising yet persistent way. For primary, 11+ and 13+ tutoring I also have past experience so please do not hesitate to contact me for further details or advice. Medicine, 11+ and GCSE sciences and maths teacher based London. A typical lesson involves first establishing a student's starting point, weakness and problem areas. Each student has different learning styles so depending on whether worked practice, step by step topic breakdown or visual aids work best, I employ different methods to achieve the best results. For Medicine application tutoring, I aim to spend separate lessons focusing on each section of the UCAT, giving insider techniques, tips and strategies to master each part. Personal statement help involves advice on structure, content and streamlining edits to ensure the best outcome. Medical interview practice involves going over interview technique, common and unusual questions and then mock interview practice tailored to each Medical School's style. Any special requests for students are always taken into account as everyone's needs are individual, thus I am very adaptable.
