About David
Hi, my name is David and I'm a math tutor with a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, one of the highest-rated engineering schools in the US. For nearly the past two years, I have tutored both high school and college students one-on-one for many different commonly difficult classes such as high school and college algebra, Calculus 1, and Calculus 2. I can provide weekly and as-needed tutoring for almost any math course from Prealgebra to the community college level. This includes Calculus 3, Linear Algebra, as well as proof-based courses such as Discrete Math and Logic. Not only do I love math, but I also love sharing with others how amazing of a subject it can be.

Whether you want weekly meetings to support you throughout the school year or just need a single session to prepare you for an upcoming test, I got you covered. A standard meeting usually consists of a mini-lecture covering key concepts, mixed with practice problems to test the student's knowledge on what was just covered. If additional help is needed then I usually schedule a second follow-up meeting exclusively dedicated to tips and tricks and practice problems.
My lessons are carefully designed to include explanations that justify where results actually come from along with fair and engaging practice problems that require applying the material using outside-the-box thinking. I do this not only with the goal of exercising problem-solving skills, but to show that at its core, math can be so much more fascinating than simply plugging and chugging equations. Memorizing a formula can maybe help you on a test tomorrow, but learning to think like a mathematician can help you for life.
