About Elizabeth
Hi, I’m Elizabeth! I’m a math tutor with several years of experience helping upper elementary and middle school students build confidence and succeed. I use Khan Academy regularly to reinforce classroom learning and track progress. I’m familiar with Common Core and other curricula, and I tailor each session to the student’s needs. Outside of tutoring, I teach computer science at school and enjoy playing video games—so I love finding fun, creative ways to make learning math engaging and relevant.

I'm a firm believer in building on a learner's strengths while identifying and filling in any learning gaps. My goal is to meet students where they are and help them move forward with confidence.
I use a variety of online tools and interactive resources to make math engaging and accessible. I specialize in upper elementary through middle school math—especially the critical transition period when visual models give way to abstract thinking, memorization, and algorithms. I'm also great with just basic homework help and love providing the support students need to feel less overwhelmed and more capable.
A typical lesson starts with a quick check-in or warm-up to review previous material. Then, we move into focused instruction or guided practice on a current concept, using examples and interactive visuals. I always leave time for the student to try a few problems on their own with support, and we end with a brief recap or preview of what's coming next. My lessons are adaptable based on the student's needs and energy level that day.
