About Emma
I am a friendly approachable person who has had tutoring experience in a variety of settings from pre kindergarten to high school. I have tutored 1:1 in person and online, I have worked in a math learning centre, and I have worked as a teaching assistant in a classroom setting. My students have always enjoyed learning from me and I have had many successes in building confidence in math from being approachable, understanding and patient. I believe that every student is unique and learns in their own way, and so I explain things in a way that makes sense to each individual student to ensure their understanding of a topic.

In our lessons we can work on further understanding and practice on your class work, homework help, or we can work on a new topic by working through materials prepared by myself. I will work with you to fully understand the topic so that you can answer questions confidently without help. If it becomes clear that other topics need to be addressed in order to gain a complete understanding, I will fill in these learning gaps with new materials and make a work plan to get you back on track. My number 1 goal with any student is to provide them with understanding; I want them to know and understand the logic of 'why' instead of just blindly learning a method.
