My approach as a tutor is patient, supportive, and personalized. I begin by identifying each student’s strengths, interests, and learning gaps. I use clear explanations, visual aids, real-world examples, guided practice, educational games, and frequent checks for understanding. I adjust my teaching strategies based on the student’s progress and learning style.
A typical lesson starts with a short warm-up or review, followed by a clear explanation and teacher-guided examples. The student then practices the skill with my support before completing an independent activity. I end each session with a quick assessment, feedback, and a review of the main concepts.
What sets me apart is my more than 14 years of teaching experience in the Philippines and the United States. I am a licensed teacher in Nevada, Colorado, and the Philippines, with experience teaching diverse learners, including students who need additional academic or special education support. I create a welcoming environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence.
My lessons are designed for elementary and middle school students who need support in Math and English Language Arts, as well as middle and high school students studying General Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Earth Science. I also support learners following NGSS, Common Core, Pre-AP, and AP Biology curricula. Each lesson is adapted to the student’s grade level, academic goals, and individual needs.
