My teaching method is based instructional principles that is outlined in the following points:
1. Each lesson begins with a quick review of previous learning and also includes a pre-requisite for the learning that is to follow.
2. Students are informed on what they will be learning in the lesson, why they will be learning it and what is expected from them by the end of the lesson.
2. I present a new concept or material that is broken down into clear and concise steps and provide opportunities for students to practice after each step.
3. Regular questioning, discussion and checking for understanding occurs throughout the lesson.
4. Models and scaffolds a provided for students to assist learning and understanding.
5. Student practice is continuously guided and supported.
6. The goal of the lesson is to obtain a high student success rate.
7. Independent practice is monitored and effective feedback is provided.
8. A lesson closure occurs to check that the learning goals have been achieved.
