About Kieran
My name is Kieran and I am a first-year medical student at the University of Sheffield. I am fresh out of A-levels which means I have a deep understanding of how challenging years 10-13 can be. I was given a benchmark of B in psychology but through learning the content inside and getting support on the tough areas, I managed to improve my grade to an A-star. I have chosen to tutor in Psychology as I enjoyed learning the A-level content and have a wide and deep understanding of the subject. As someone who didn’t breeze through A-level psychology, I have learnt a lot, including exam-board specific tricks and making effective revision plans, I believe I will be able to share these tips to help you achieve your goals (whatever they may be). My paper 3 option topics are issues and debates, gender, schizophrenia and forensics.

During our session, I aim to have a quick discussion to work out our session’s objectives. Whether you need help with your homework, getting your head around a challenging concept or question, doing a whole topic revision session or going through past paper questions, I hope to help you learn in an active and enjoyable style. Techniques I use include blurting (getting all the topic out of your head), past paper question walkthroughs, flashcards. I hope to encourage students to work in this way as it is backed by evidence as being more effective. AQA A-Level Psychology is a hard subject with lots of content. I hope to help you understand the key fundamentals such as understanding the question command words, issues and debates, research methods and learning how to master your essay technique. It is hard just memorising AO1 and AO3, so understanding these fundamentals is an easy way of grabbing extra marks. In addition to this I am happy to mark and give feedback on essay questions.

Really good tutor, definitely recommend!!
Kieran was fantastic, he taught me biology and chemistry and allowed me to gain an excellent understanding in both. He boosted me from a 5 to a 7 in my mocks with just a couple sessions.
