I have known Ruby for many years and she has always been extremely passionate about educating young people. She approaches her work with impressive diligence and is committed to giving her absolute best in everything she does.

Ruby is a dear friend of mine, and I have had many tutoring sessions with her about self-efficacy in relation to how I felt about my Economics degree. Ruby is a very active listener, enthusiastic and receptive when explaining a new topic. Her slides are one of a kind, are all so colorful, and are a great resource to refer back to. Ruby currently volunteers with Bright Futures UK as a KS2 English tutor, providing one-to-one support to an 11-year-old learner. Her lessons are carefully planned, with clear visual cues on each slide to indicate stages such as the starter, new learning and application. This gives her lessons a clear structure while helping the learner understand what they are working towards.

She also makes a real effort to personalise her teaching, using examples based around the learner's interests to make lessons engaging and relevant. I particularly like how she encourages oracy by asking the learner to explain and justify their thinking, helping them develop both their understanding and communication skills.

Ruby is committed to continually developing her teaching practice and has attended events including the World of Learning Summit and the Climate and Nature Education Festival. She is also a caring and responsible person, having volunteered at Great Ormond Street Hospital's Weekend Club for three years.

Overall, Ruby combines careful preparation, creativity and genuine care for her learners. I would be very happy to recommend her as a KS1 or KS2 tutor.
