About Natalie
Hello, and welcome to my profile. My name is Natalie, and I am an experienced international educator with 27 years of teaching experience across a range of curricula and subjects, with a strong specialization in Psychology and the Social Sciences. I currently tutor Psychology, alongside Social Science, History, Art History, and Sociology, drawing on my extensive background teaching these subjects in international and South African school contexts. I have taught across IB (MYP, DP, CP) as well as IEB, Cambridge-style curricula, and other international programs, which allows me to adapt lessons to different syllabi, assessment styles, and learning needs. What motivates me most about teaching is helping students understand people, behavior, culture, and society—and then giving them the skills to think critically, write clearly, and express their ideas with confidence.

Methodology and lesson style
My lessons are structured, personalised, and goal-driven, but always adapted to the individual learner. I do not use a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, I tailor each lesson to the student’s curriculum, learning style, and specific needs.
Depending on the student, lessons may focus on:
• improving academic writing and essay structure
• exam preparation and assessment strategies
• developing critical thinking and analysis skills
• strengthening subject knowledge and terminology
• building confidence in discussion, explanation, and argument
I use clear explanations, guided practice, discussion, visual organisation tools, and real examples to make learning meaningful and manageable.
Languages
I am proficient in English and teach all subjects in English. I have extensive experience working with second-language English learners and international students and am skilled at supporting language development alongside subject understanding.
