About Forida
I’m an experienced secondary History teacher with over 11 years’ experience teaching KS3, GCSE and A-Level. I have held leadership roles including Head of History, Lead Practitioner and KS4 Coordinator, with particular expertise in curriculum, assessment and exam preparation.
I teach both Edexcel and AQA GCSE History, as well as a range of A-Level topics, and I have experience as an examiner. Throughout my career I have supported students across the full ability range, from those needing to rebuild confidence to high-attaining students aiming for grades 8–9 and A/A*.
I’m particularly passionate about making History feel manageable. I break down difficult content, teach students how examiners reward answers and give clear, practical feedback they can apply straight away. My approach is supportive but academically ambitious, with the aim of helping students become confident, independent historians.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s needs, whether they are aiming to build confidence, improve subject knowledge or push for the highest grades. I focus on clear explanations, strong historical knowledge and, importantly, how to turn that knowledge into high-quality exam answers.
For GCSE and A-Level students, lessons include targeted exam technique, essay planning, source and interpretation skills, timed practice, retrieval and personalised feedback. I identify gaps quickly and adapt teaching accordingly, rather than following a one-size-fits-all programme.
I have over 11 years’ experience teaching History across KS3, GCSE and A-Level and extensive experience supporting students with a wide range of abilities. My aim is for students to understand why an answer is successful, so they become increasingly confident and independent rather than reliant on a tutor.
