About Phillip
My name is Phillip and I want to teach others to show the same love I have for music through the acoustic guitar and ukulele. I picked it up at a young age and found self-reward in further refining that skill, motivating me to use that passion and determination within my everyday life. Additionally, even when I perform in front of large groups of people during my volunteering in church, I’m confident, not scared to mess up the songs since I’m doing something I love. Again, I want to show my love for music with others.

My teaching approach focuses on helping students learn the basic chords and strumming techniques through simple, familiar songs, making the process engaging and practical from the start. I believe learning music, especially guitar, should be done at the pace of the learner so as they pick up more and more, the lessons will get increasingly harder while keeping the lessons enjoyable. Lessons typically run for 1–2 hours or longer depending on your choice of hours, allowing enough time for practice, feedback, and progression. I am self-taught from age 10, further trained through school, and have over 8 years of experience performing in a church band. My lessons are open to all ages and beginner to intermediate skill levels.
