About James
I have worked in education for ten years, holding a variety of positions during this time. I have developed exceptional teaching skills and an ability to build rapport with students from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds, as well as students who are neurodivergent. I work in a friendly, holistic capacity and tailor lessons to the specific needs of the individuals with whom I work, ensuring any barriers to learning are addressed. I am generally passionate about education and am deeply curious about subjects of all types. I bring these characteristics to each of my lessons, working with a genuine enthusiasm for student success and progression.

Lessons are typically 50 minutes to 1 hour and focus on the development of reading and writing skills in general.
This method supports students to improve their overall ability to understand texts/analysis, allowing them to apply these skills to any course/framework in order to succeed. This method focuses on, but is not limited to:
- Close reading.
- Identification of techniques (metaphors, similes, hyperbole, personification, etc).
- Syntax.
- Writing answers in a clear, concise way.
I have worked with students who are in school (11 - 16), in FE (16 - 25) and HE (18 - late adulthood). I tailor lessons to individual needs and have extensive experience with working with students who are neurodivergent.
