About Leela
I have been a French tutor for ten years and hold two university degrees, in International Relations and Anthropology, as well as a French Baccalauréat in Economics and Social Sciences. After living in Canada for two years and Ireland for five years, I chose to return to the French Riviera, where I am now based.
Throughout my career, I have worked with many English-speaking students looking to improve their French, as well as with young French students preparing for the Brevet, Baccalauréat, or language exams as part of their higher education.
Driven by a strong desire for personal growth and excellence, I have taken part in several national competitions in history, literature and creative writing. These experiences helped me inspire and support my students as they work towards achieving their own academic and personal goals.

I truly believe that the first essential step towards improving your French is building confidence. When students believe in their own abilities, they can truly unlock their full potential.
My lessons are fully personalised: each session is tailored to the student’s needs, goals and pace of learning. With a structured yet flexible approach, I adapt my materials — including texts, videos, exercises and discussions — to make every lesson engaging, clear and motivating.
I place particular emphasis on speaking and listening comprehension, as these are often the areas where learners feel the least confident. Together, we explore topics that spark curiosity — from current affairs and culture to literature and art — so that French becomes more than just an academic subject: it becomes a genuine tool for communication and personal development.
My goal is simple: for every student to leave my lessons feeling more confident, more independent and proud of their progress.
IMPORTANT: The first lesson is not free. It is an important part of the learning process, as I use a series of assessments to identify the student’s strengths and areas for improvement and create a personalised learning plan.

My rate reflects the time I dedicate to preparing and personalising each lesson. Every class is tailored to the student, with materials that I create myself to match your needs, level and interests.
The rate also includes travel, additional exercises, audio recordings for pronunciation practice, as well as the correction of homework and written assignments.
Every lesson is therefore carefully designed to provide a truly personalised learning experience and help each student make tangible progress at their own pace.
