About Kelly
I am an experienced teacher and tutor of English and History. I taught for 25 years in schools, FE Colleges and at University. I now teach on a 1-1 basis helping and supporting students with all aspects of English and History with particular expertise in GCSE and A Level exam preparation. I am an External Examiner for both GCSE and A Level English. I’m a firm believer that 1-1 tuition really helps students as you build up a rapport which enables trust and increases confidence in the student. I really enjoy tutoring and I have been successful in supporting a high number of students to do well and gain the necessary confidence to succeed.

This depends on the student. When I first meet with a student, we discuss ways in which they prefer to learn and also ways that they don’t. I take the lead from the student, and we build a plan from there. The 1-1 support in itself is often the important part, as students often are not able to access this if they are taught in large groups. The personal attention and design of learning can really help students excel.
