About Marisa-Sue
I have been a teacher for thirteen years and have taught kindergarten through third grade. I have also tutored from kindergarten through fifth grade. In my classroom, I have tried to encourage my students to see that each and every one of them is both an educator and a student. Different cultures, families, social backgrounds, and economic classes have led to a variety of experiences which are unique and these factors have also led to experiences which have been shared by students. By encouraging them to think about and share their experiences, it allows them to see that while they can have similar experiences their perceptions and opinions can also sometimes be quite different. I have tried to help my students understand that each and every one of them has something to either teach or contribute to the whole and to the process of learning.
