About Billie

I am British but I spent the first 13 years of my life growing up in Asia, so I really enjoy interacting with people from different cultures and walks of life. I have lived and breathed teaching since I was 18 years old and have gained a vast amount of experience in different countries and environments.

I have a calm and considered demeanour when teaching and I always strive to get to know my students and make sure the lessons fit them personally. I want students to feel positive about themselves and to develop confidence in their own work, as I know that everyone learns at different paces.

My interests outside of teaching include reading, writing, photography, hula hooping and travel.

About the lesson

I have been teaching for over 10 years now and have lots of experience with one to one tuition.
I have taught from ages 2 - 70+ with students from all across the world, so can teach any ages and abilities.
My PGCE is in Secondary English but I have taught everything from pre-school, primary, secondary, GCSE, A-Level and University to English as a foreign language at all levels, as I also have a TESOL qualification from Trinity College, which is one of the highest acclaimed foreign language teaching courses.

My BA(hons) was in English Literature with Creative Writing and I also completed an MA in Creative Writing. I strongly believe in championing the power of reading to improve all other aspects of English and I am also passionate about the benefits of creative writing, which I incorporate into lessons at any age.

My lesson times and content can be adjusted to suit each individual, once we have spoken about your needs I will draw up a personalised plan of learning to encourage your strengths and support your weaknesses.
