About Karishma
With 20+ years of teaching experience, I have had the pleasure of working with children of different ages, abilities and from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Over the years, I have learned that every child is different, and that finding the right approach can make all the difference.
I am CELTA-qualified, a Cambridge qualification in English language teaching, and I am a naturally curious lifelong learner myself. I enjoy exploring new ideas, finding creative ways to explain things and bringing that sense of curiosity and discovery into my lessons.
I am a patient, encouraging and attentive teacher who takes the time to get to know each learner, their strengths, interests and areas where they need support. I adapt my lessons to help children understand concepts clearly while keeping them engaged and involved in their learning.
Parents can expect well-planned, purposeful lessons, clear communication and a genuine commitment to their child's progress. Above all, I want my students to enjoy learning, feel comfortable asking questions and leave each lesson feeling more confident, capable and in control of their own learning.

I believe children learn best when lessons are engaging, purposeful and tailored to their individual needs. With 20+ years of teaching experience and a CELTA qualification in English language teaching, I combine proven teaching strategies with a warm, encouraging approach.
How I teach: I use clear explanations, modelling, questioning, discussion, guided practice and interactive activities. Lessons are adapted to each child's level, strengths and areas for development, using stories, texts and practical activities to make learning meaningful.
A typical lesson: We begin with a short review or warm-up, move into focused teaching and guided practice, and then apply the learning through reading, comprehension, writing, grammar or speaking activities. We finish by reviewing progress and identifying next steps.
What sets me apart: I bring extensive classroom experience and a strong understanding of how children learn. I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and building confidence, while developing the skills to become more independent learners.
Who I teach: I primarily work with students in Grades 3–7, supporting reading, comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, English literature and communication. Lessons can also be tailored to specific learning needs or used alongside schoolwork for targeted support.
