About Basma
Hi, I’m Basma! I’m an English professor with a master’s degree and several years of experience teaching and supporting students at different academic levels. I’m passionate about helping students become stronger, more confident readers and writers while creating a learning environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
I believe great tutoring should be encouraging, engaging, and tailored to the individual student. I take the time to understand how each student learns best and explain challenging concepts in a clear and approachable way. Whether a student is preparing for the SAT, strengthening their English skills, or simply looking to become a more confident learner, my goal is to help them make meaningful progress and feel proud of what they accomplish.

My approach to SAT tutoring is supportive, personalized, and focused on helping students feel confident rather than overwhelmed. I begin by identifying each student’s strengths and the areas where they need the most improvement. From there, I break SAT reading, grammar, and writing concepts into clear, manageable steps and teach practical strategies students can apply on test day.
A typical lesson combines targeted instruction with SAT-style practice questions. We review why an answer is correct, why the other choices are incorrect, and how to recognize similar question patterns in the future. I also focus on time management, reading comprehension, grammar rules, and strategies for approaching difficult questions efficiently.
As an English professor with a master’s degree and several years of teaching experience, I bring classroom experience while still providing the individual attention of one-on-one tutoring. My lessons are designed primarily for high school students preparing for the SAT, whether they are just beginning their preparation or looking to strengthen specific skills and improve their score.
